No one ever told me
I mean it
Not a single word was mentioned that children are inherently triggering
That those triggers are invitations to dive deep into our pain
To heal it
To grow alongside them
Instead we were taught to punish their loving brilliance
Our brilliance was stolen from us
Don't steal theirs
We have no right to it
We are guardians
On borrowed time
Grow with them
Don't punish them for seeing
They are wise
They are intelligent
They are aware
They are conscience
